This website has become the legacy of the late RONAN COSTELLO
This website has been set up to become the legacy of the late RONAN COSTELLO a young man who sadly passed away playing the game of Rugby League for the Huddersfield Giants Academy.
Ronan was a committed young man who enjoyed a challenge & always gave 100%. These qualities will be embedded into every event/challenge & project that #FORRONAN delivers
Five of our very best decided to cover THREE HUNDRED & FIFTEEN MILES, the equivalent of 12 marathons in just 12 days round the beautiful island of Fiji! There were injuries aplenty, dehydration, infected blisters, sun stroke and quite a few tears but they kept going - getting up around 4am (before temperatures hit 30 degrees) and covering between 30-40km each day and completed it raising in excess of £10,000 in the process
Following the resounding success of the walk last carried out in 2019, we revisited the 26 mile Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on Saturday 9th April 2022. The orignal date penned for April 2020 was scampered due to the Coronavirus Pandemic but everybody managed to get around in one piece and raised over £6,000 in the process.
5 regular (but amazing) men, cycled it to Snowdon, climbed it, then cycled back - all in one weekend! All to support the legacy of Ronan Costello. Embracing the ethos of ForRonan - teamwork, respect, pride, belonging...
Six of our very finest did the Coast-to-Coast challenge and completed this in 3 days! Setting off on the Friday from Barrow-in-Furness, they battled through every weather you could possibly imagine that was thrown at them, hitting the finish line at Redcar Beacon raising over £3200 in the process. The equivalent of 4 marathons in just 3 days was an extraordinary effort!
We like to set ourselves challenges that push the boundaries and are not your normal, short quick fixes. This is all about a group of people coming together and giving their all to raise the profile of #FORRONAN and launch the CIC by carrying out a walk which raised in excess of £3500 when the plan was to aim for £500!
