#FORRONAN is a community interest company set up to maintain the legacy of the late Ronan Costello who tragically lost his life aged just 17 years old playing rugby league for the Huddersfield Giants academy side in 2017.
The idea was born after the now famous #WALKFORRONAN Yorkshire three peaks challenge was completed in April 2019. This challenge saw fifty northern fitness gym affiliates come together to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance & local junior sport. Over £10k was raised and distributed making a big impact on the respective beneficiaries.
The event was so well supported and the who dares project had already begun gathering momentum that a decision was made to create something special by merging the two ideas in the hope that one would compliment the other as they both had the same objective TO CHANGE THE LIFE PATH OF YOUNG PEOPLE.
Fast forward a couple of months later and a committee was formed, website built, new challenges launched and many ideas for the future are being considered.
Our mission is to offer as many young people the opportunity to experience positive, impactful & exciting experiences that centre around our core values and have a very 'real' feel to them.
Our 'WHODARES' Adventure weekend is just one of hopefully many projects that we will develop over the coming months & years that will help us to meet our objective and ultimately create more caring, respectful & independent young people in our community.
We are carrying out our project under the #FORRONAN banner which is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to raise money that will enable us to give young people in our local community, new & exciting opportunities & experiences that will help them develop into fine young men and women that we can all be proud of.
The WhoDares weekend, is a military based weekend delivered by the #FORRONAN charity, working with junior sports teams, to develop their resilience, teamwork, and communication skills, as well as instilling high levels of discipline, to an authentic military standard.
